Angus Glen Golf Club
Utilizing a links-style design that is nestled among rolling hills and meandering streams, Angus Glen presents a challenging, yet fair play for all levels of golfers. In 1957, Arthur W. Stollery purchased 230 acres of farm land that became known for the breeding of champion Aberdeen Angus cattle, French Charolais cattle and to this day, thoroughbred racehorses. Angus cattle originate in Scotland and the word "glen" is common for valley, thus the name Angus Glen!
Rolling spacious fairways enables golfers to "swing away" while being challenged by deep steep faced bunkers and hollows around the greens. Over 108 sand traps filled with White Ohio Sand creates a blend of different design characteristics.
A second course is in full development with scheduled play by Spring,2001. This project combines the skills of original designer, Coug Carrick and noted designer of TPC in Scottsdale, Troon Golf and Country Club and Scotland's Loch Lomond, American architect, Jay Moorish.
Ranked the "Best New Course in Canada" by GOLF DIGEST in 1995, Angus Glen is proud to provide a superb driving range with three acres of teeing ground, 8 target greens with sand, a pitching practice and putting green.
Kevin Thistle, Director of Golf has stated, "Book4golf.com provided us with the best new technology that was user friendly for an automated tee sheet. Their staff is friendly, professional and always ready to help. They are the leaders in the industry and we like be associated with success!"
